Coronavirus effect on smog. Pollution monitoring satellites from NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) have detected significant reductions in nitrogen dioxide (NO2). The change has been shown to be at least partly related to the economic slowdown following the outbreak of the coronavirus. The levels of nitrogen dioxide, a marker of pollution, have clearly decreased as evidenced by the images of the Sentinel 5 satellite of the European Copernicus program, managed by the European Commission and the European Space Agency (ESA). But even the seas are repopulated as ascertained by international environmental organizations.

Forced to stay at home, to try to stop the spread of such a small entity, invisible to the naked eye but so lethal. A war machine, previously ignored, but now known all over the world. From the window, in these days, I notice a bluer, clearer sky. Is it a wrong feeling? No! Since everything stopped, since we were forced to stop and reduce our actions, the Earth has come back to life . Let's reflect: isn't it because we have abused and mistreated the house that hosts us for too long? A clear and strong message, yet another, which we hope will finally be caught. Just be selfish, just locate the man at the top of the world. We look up, broaden our view and begin to respect everything around us. (Giorgia Casoar)
